Satyanada Yoga Tradition

The Satyananda Yoga tradition (also called Bihar Yoga Tradition) was established by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, as the first modern Yoga system.

Although heavily based on the ancient yoga systems of Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Kriya Yoga and Raja Yoga, Satyananda Yoga is highly adaptable to the individual needs of its practitioners.

In fact, how one person experiences this yoga system will be different from another’s, because the yoga practices depend on each person’s individual needs and requirements – whether physical, mental or spiritual. This system actively works to create and maintain a balance between the body and the mind. It allows for aspirants to rediscover themselves in yoga, improving on those aspects of life they wish to improve, without anydrastic lifestyle change.
